Ovarian Cancer Run & Walk
The 2009 Ovarian Cancer Run & Walk supports the initiatives of Ovar’coming Together which include education, survivor support and research for ovarian cancer.
The Run & Walk includes a 4-mile competitive run, a 3-mile walk, a 1-mile walk, and a Jazzercise Workout. It starts and finishes at historic Indianapolis City Market and will once again be organized by Tuxedo Brothers. Participants will be able to shop at the Teal Market and participate in a fundraising silent auction. Post-race refreshments will be served.

To be guaranteed a T-shirt, participants must register by Friday, September 18. Paper entries must be postmarked by September 16. Participants who register September 19 through race day will be given a T-shirt on a first-come, first-served basis.

You must know your team name and include it with your registration to get the reduced fee of $18 per person. The team captain will be notified if a team does not reach 8 members by September 19.
Note: There must be a minimum of 8 “paying” registrants to receive the team discount. A child registering for the $10 fee counts as a paying team member.

Individuals and teams may pick up their race packets on Friday, September 25, 11:00AM – 6:00PM at City Market, 222 E. Market Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204. You may also pick up packets on race day.
There are two gravel lots located off of Market and Alabama Streets. Pre-pay $5. Obtain a voucher to receive $4 back upon egress from the lots. Time limit is 2 hours maximum.
There are two gravel lots located off of Market and Alabama Streets which are free to use on weekends. There is also street-level parking near City Market and numerous city parking garages which are usually free or low-charge on weekends).
Saturday, September 26, 7:30–8:30 AM. $22 per person. Remaining T-shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first serve basis.
Ovarian cancer awareness items and clothing will be available for purchase on race day. In addition, a silent auction will be held. Come prepared to have some fun shopping and bidding. Ovar’coming Together will accept cash, checks and credit cards. Outside vendors will accept cash and checks.

Run prizes will be awarded to: 1) the first place and runner-up overall male and female runners; and 2) the first place and runner-up male and female runners in each age group. Age groups are: 11–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, etc. and 75+.
Runners will receive a timing chip that must be returned at the conclusion of the race. A $20 fee, payable to event organizer, will be charged for unreturned chips. Runners must maintain at least a 12-minute pace per mile. There will be a display clock to show times for the 3-mile walk.
